Apprenticeship Applications

Qualifications for all new Apprentice Applicants are as follows:

1) Applicant must be a minimum of 17 years of age.

2) All applicants must submit the following information:

  • Complete Application online 24/7 (Apply here)
  • Birth Certificate
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate or Official Transcripts
  • Valid Illinois Driver’s License

3) There will be a $10.00 fee payable by certified check ONLY, made out to SMART Local 265 Education Fund. No personal checks will be accepted.

4) All Applicant candidates must take the Military ASVAB career exploration exam (given and administered in English on an assigned date). Your score will be used for placement on the Applicant list.

5) Applicants who are accepted into the program will be required to provide their own transportation, and must be insurable to drive a company vehicle in order to work.

6) All applicants must be available to work within the territorial jurisdiction of Local #265, which is; DuPage, Kane, Kendall, McHenry, Grundy, Iroquois, Kankakee, Livingston, and Will Counties.

7) At time of employment, candidates will be required to pass a physical exam and drug screen at a clinic to be designated by the Apprenticeship Program payed for by the Contractor.

 

Note: If all required documents are not provided on the ASVAB testing date, the candidate will NOT be allowed to test.
