Duct and Envelope Tightness (DET)
This course is designed by Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 265 to train our members in third party verification testing which is recognized by the State of Illinois. Illinois has adopted the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC 2012) that requires building envelope and duct leakage testing. This course will familiarize our members with the IECC 2012 as it pertains to Illinois adoption of the code. After successful completion of a written and performance exam, our members will be certified to conduct these tests. You will be able to download our certification to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) and the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) Illinois code diagnostics web site and be listed as an individual that has been trained to conduct these tests.
