Local 265’s Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee is now accepting resumes for the position of Night Service Instructor. Below you will find more information on the job requirements, responsibilities and qualifications needed for the position as well as instructions on where to submit resumes for those that are interested in the position.

Title: Night Service Instructor

Reports to: Director of Training > Apprenticeship Coordinator

General Purpose/Basic Function:

This Night Service Instructor position will be tasked with training Apprentice and Journeypersons the skills and knowledge base needed to fulfill the demands of the HVAC Service sector of our industry.

Qualifications:

  • Member of SMWIA/SMART
  • High School diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred
  • A minimum of 10 Years’ experience in the HVAC Service Industry
  • Residential and Commercial Service experience
  • Above average mechanical and math skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • The ability to work with students, coworkers, and administrators in a team environment
  • EPA Section 608 Universal
  • Strong Soldering and Brazing skills
  • Expansive knowledge of the sheet metal and service industry
  • Expansive knowledge of technology
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Familiar with Microsoft applications and other general computer skills (preferred)
  • Public speaking (preferred)
  • ICE & NATE Certifications (preferred)
  • Welding and Torch cutting experience (preferred)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • This is a part-time position that could become full-time
  • Hourly pay based on SMART Local 265 CBA journeyperson total package as defined by the JATC. Compensation will be based on skill level.
